Story:
Patiala House is the battle between family traditions and ambitions. Patiala House showcases three generations of a surd family headed by Dara Singh who is hard core believer in family tradi
tions and customs. Nikhil Advani will be having not two or three but a host of 32 surds in Patiala House. They are all followers of age old customs and family ideals but there is one rebellious Pargat Singh Kahlon (Akshay Kumar) who aspires to follow his dream of being an ace cricketer much against the wishes of his father Gurtej Singh Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor).
Patiala House is father-son drama set in the backdrop of London. Gurtej Singh appears a typical Indian whose words become final verdict. He cannot stand his son Pargat’s desire to be part of English cricket team and thereby play against Indian team. Ultimately, Pargat has to give up his dream to save his father's reputation and sacrifice his aspirations. One day he decides to stand against his father’s rules and fights for his dreams and sets out to change the history of Patiala house. Simran played by Anushka Sharma becomes the strength of Pargat Singh and makes him believe in his dreams.
Patiala House brings the most adorable pair of Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia after ‘Pyar Mein Twist’ back into action. Dimple Kapadia has essayed the character of Mrs. Kahlon who dares to cut the hair of his son during 1979-1981riots in South Hall making him cut surd.
In Patiala House Akshay Kumar is sharing screen space with real life mom-in-law Dimple Kapadia for the first time. Punjabi Hip pop singer Hard Kaur is also being roped in for the character of Akshay’s sister Komal Chatwal. She is turning into actress with Patiala House who earned fame by her song Ek Glassy. She has sung Hindi songs for movies such as Singh is Kingg, Ajab Prem ki Ghazab Kahani and Kismat Konnection. The rest of the cast of Pataila House includes Prem Chopra, Armaan Kirmani, Soni Razdan, Tinu Anand and David Frost.
Patiala House has got its cricket team as well since Akshay Kumar has to become pace bowler. David Gower, Graham Gooch, Graham Hitch and Alec Stewart were the part of Cricket team of Patiala House. Nikhil Advani has roped in Nikhil Chopra and Sanjay Manjerakar to play commentators of the matches being played at Oval and Lords that has witnessed several innings by great cricketers. Akshay Kumar is being trained by Balwinder Singh Sandhu to maintain the authenticity of Akshay’s Character. |
